You might have noticed the lack of posts in the past few weeks, I my inbox has been flooded with people wondering why I have not been posting. No, I am not sick nor have I gone Amish. The problem is that I am lacking an important part of the internets, that is I am without my laptop.
On Christmas Eve my HP shutdown during a lively game of Freecell and wouldn't restart. So being the uber leet engineer that I am, I was able to get the importiant stuff off of my hard drive and then took it to best buy and let that service contract go to work. When I turned it in to them I told them I was pretty sure it was a motherboard problem, and they said they would have to send it out for repair and they should get it back in 7-10 days. 5 weeks later they called and said they had gotten it back in. I had to go home, pick it up and reinstall windows. Then, the computer started shutting down randomly. So I took it back to Best Buy and they said that they had to send it out for service, again. So its now been 6 weeks and any connection I have had with the Internet has been done through a university computer, or through the 450 Megahertz Gateway from 1997. The computers in CAEN labs are 3.2 Gigahertz, that's like 7 times the computing power. So needless to say I have not been using the Internets as much as I am used to. And anyone who knows me knows how much time I spend on a computer. No iTunes, no AIM, no solitaire, no Age of Empires III. Now I just play NCAA 07 all day and imagine what Vista will be like. Hopefully, I'll get my computer back soon and there will be an increase in posts. I miss facebook.

I wish there was a type of joint blog or something where I could respond to your stories, but my comments would be weighted with the same importance as your original posts. Perhaps a cross between a forum and a blog... a flog? But here's an example of what I would post:
Your computer shuts down randomly? Mine restarts randomly. Unfortunately it's not under warranty since I built it. I could send it to myself for service but I think that would confuse our postman. Anywho... I heard the stupidest conversation ever on the bus today. I forgot the exact details of it, but it revealed that some kid didn't know that the name "Jim" was short for "James." He was an engineer, and Indian. Like me, but 100%.
1pm is not a good time to start drinking German malt liquor. Especially since I have to go back to North Campus in half an hour.
